MutualArt: The Most Expensive Paintings Ever Sold

A Paul Gauguin thought to have been the world’s most expensive artwork has been revealed to have sold for $90 million less than originally thought, at $210 million.

The news follows a legal battle with auctioneer Simon de Pury, who claims he is owed $10 million for his role in the deal. We look at the new world record holder — and the 10 highest prices paid for artworks in history…
